President / Founder
After several successful years of sales in the construction industry, Luke decided to follow his passion and create a homebuilding company that would focus on the distinctive design, expert craftsmanship and committed, personal relationships buyers of luxury homes were looking for. The Ullman Group began by acquiring, designing, and rebuilding a number of homes in the desirable neighborhoods of Elizabeth and Dilworth in Charlotte, NC. In recent years, Luke has worked as a managing partner with a commercial construction firm working on projects that include some of the most recognizable projects in the Carolina’s while still maintaining a passion for designing and building classic one-of-a-kind homes. Luke returned to residential construction in 2013, assembling a team of truly dedicated craftsman.
Luke is an All-American, NCAA award-winning baseball player. His primary exercise these days is keeping up with 3 young children and on occasion playing a round of golf, mountain biking and shooting.
You might say April has construction in her blood. April’s dad owns a residential contracting business in New Jersey. April is a licensed CPA and until recently, was employed by the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. April’s accounting and financial experience ensures the project budgets are met and the company is fiscally sound and secure protecting our client’s interests. April shares Luke’s passion for design and building and is an active participant in the process. Her boundless energy is apparent by working full time and managing their 3 young children, Kenzie, Harper, and Nash.
April was raised in the outdoors where she learned to hunt with her father and brothers. She also enjoys scuba diving and gardening.
Estimator / Project Manager
Dave was born and raised in the Panama Canal Zone. Dave has served as a field engineer and project manager all around the globe including the Panama Canal, a ship terminal in Charleston, SC and an oil refinery in Esfahan, Iran. Dave’s knowledge and experience in all phases and types of construction including concrete, masonry, framing, interior and exterior trim and millwork has made him an expert in evaluating the scope of a project and developing accurate cost estimates. Dave’s work is critical to the planning and budgeting phase of each project.
Dave and wife Elizabeth have four grown children. When not working, you can find Dave shooting, hunting or riding his motorcycle.
A Charlotte native, Lauren grew up in her family’s window and door business managing the office and working in the field. Lauren then joined the audio visual industry and has over 8 years of AV sales experience. Lauren shares a dual role at The Ullman Group as a Residential Construction Administrator and a Commercial Project Engineer. Lauren’s interests include enjoying the outdoors, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Phil hails from LaGrange, Illinois. For nearly seventeen years he’s worked in multiple areas of residential and commercial construction, including site-development, single-family and multi-family projects of all sizes. Phil has extensive experience as a Tradesman, Superintendent, and in Project Management. He’s currently licensed as a North Carolina General Contractor and holds several certifications in Construction Safety and Environmental Management.
Phil and his wife Darlene are residents of Harrisburg, NC and have each completed over 20 years’ service in the United States Marine Corps. They have five children and eight grandchildren. To relax, Phil enjoys golf, woodworking, and playing guitar.
Millwork Installation Manager
A Charlotte native, Justin was raised in the construction industry and was building furniture as a teenager. While the youngest member of our team, Justin is a true craftsman and brings nearly 15 years of experience in commercial and residential construction and mill shop expertise. Justin truly enjoys working with our clients and shares roles as the Mill Shop Manager and Project Management. This September, Justin and wife Kailee welcomed their first child, McKinley. Before McKinley became his main source of enjoyment, Justin’s hobbies included golf, boating, racing, and football.
